Hi! I’m Julia. At the age of 50, I decided it was time to lead a more adventurous life.
So there I was, on the verge of adventure… and living under lockdown conditions. Luckily, I live at the base of the Malvern Hills, so I adapted my first planned adventure. Rather than walking the South West Coast Path, I walked the same distance and ascent/descent, but around the Malvern Hills. I walked dressed as a jellyfish to raise funds for the Marine Conservation Society.
I was able to walk the actual South West Coast Path in September and October. What an amazing experience - my first solo trip of this kind. I wasn't always on my own - I walked and stayed with old and new friends, stayed with total strangers and met a huge array of wonderful people. I loved the time spent with others, and, as an introvert, I also loved the many hours and days spent on my own.
My adventures will appeal to people who like the idea of introducing an element of excitement into their lives. They will be adventures that other people, including women in their 50’s like me, can imagine being able to do with a little bit of time and encouragement.
I care deeply about sustainability, which is evident in the adventures I choose and the companies and gear that I promote. If this fits with your company’s values and you want to find out more about what I offer to sponsors, contact me today.
I am the author of the #1 Best Selling Book 'Live Your Bucket List', a guide to my proven process to take you from dreaming to achieving. Each step of the process is detailed and accompanied by personal stories and key lessons from my own journey.
I also write about woodland management, environmental issues, issues facing women - and adventure. My writing has been published in magazines including Living Woods magazine, and IEMA’s Transform journal.
When you commission me as a writer, you can be confident that you will have a beautifully crafted article or book with the correct word count, delivered by the agreed deadline.
“Thank you for a really thoughtful piece. You’ve tied up so many points about adaptation, climate change, and management, and it’s a really clear call to arms to all woodland owners. It’s another great article – many thanks once again!”

I give engaging and informative presentations, tailored to my audience. Audiences to date have ranged from 700 members of the Women’s Institute to 50 (mostly male) construction workers. I am equally as comfortable presenting in person or remotely via a video link, so now is a great time to engage me.
The subjects I speak on include living your bucket list, climate change, the challenges associated with plastic, Malvern’s Marvellous Trees, the menopause – and my adventures.

"Thank you for your time and energy coming to speak to us.
We all learnt many new facts and everyone found things to interest them. Thank you for opening our eyes to what is going on around us. We are now all much more aware of the dangers to the whole planet and able each to play our own small part to preserve our world for the future."
