Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for specific reasons.
We use the information that you have given us in order to meet those specific obligations or requests, eg responding to a query, providing a service, posting a book or administering a prize.
We may share this information with other relevant organisations in order to meet those obligations. Examples are email and back-up service providers, the Post Office or providers of a prize.
We may share photos online, in presentations and potentially in printed publications such as books. We may also use them to promote our work or for commercial purposes, for example to promote the town or area in which the photo was taken.

We keep your contact details for as long as required to administer the relevant service and for a period of six years afterwards. We will then dispose of your information by deleting applicable files and emails.

For Portraits, if you ask for your story to be removed from online platforms, we will do so as soon as reasonably possible. If your story has already been included in a document such as a book, it will be removed when the next edition is published.

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
