JULIA'S (REAL) JELLYFISH JOURNEY

In September and October 2020, I walked England's South West Coast Path. I stayed in a mixture of campsites and B&Bs, and occasionally I wild camped.

To date, I have raised just over £5,200 for the Marine Conservation Society. They're doing such great work to protect our oceans, please be generous: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/julias-jellyfish-journey

JULIA'S (FANTASY) JELLYFISH JOURNEY

On Good Friday in 2020, I started Julia's Jellyfish Journey to walk 1,014km and raise £10,140 for the Marine Conservation Society. Sadly, due to coronavirus travel restrictions, I have not been able to travel and walk the South West Coast Path as planned. Not to be thwarted, I embarked on Julia's Fantasy Jellyfish Journey instead, walking the same distance and ascent/descent on the Malvern Hills close to my home, following government rules and guidance on safety.
I have now completed the walk. It was always going to be difficult to raise £10,140, and with all of the uncertainties surrounding coronavirus, it became even harder. I'm disappointed but not surprised that I did not raise the full amount. To date, the total stands at £3,972, and I am very grateful to everyone who dug into their pockets at such an unsettling time. I will continue to raise funds for the Marine Conservation Society as their work is tremendously valuable - please click on the button below to make your donation today.
As well as raising money, I aimed to raise awareness of the Marine Conservation Society's work. Walking round the Malvern Hills dressed as a jellyfish did capture the public's imagination, so my activities gained significant publicity, including press coverage with a reach of over 2.2 million people.
During this period, I have fallen in love with the Malvern Hills and long-distance walking. It won't be long before I'm out on my next challenge.
